Created in 1925, the Cave de Rasteau, one of the oldest cellars of the Côtes-du-Rhône, are the first producer of the Rasteau appellation. It is located between Orange and Vaison la Romaine and enjoys a soil of quality which is made conspicuous by its great diversity, on slopes ideally exposed. It owes its notoriety with the wines Doux Naturels resulting from Grenache black, the type of vine king of the appellation. Misant always on Grenache, and by assembling there Syrah and Mourvèdre, the Cellar produces dry red wines recognized and appreciated in the whole world, and markets since 2007, all its wines under a single identity: ORTAS. The Cave de Rasteau obtained a new cellar of sale and tasting a very beautiful space of 600m2 in perfect harmony with the environment and the rich personality of the wines of Rasteau. The tasting and the discovery of these exceptional wines, are proposed to you by a cordial and professional personnel…
Superb Rasteau Prestige 2009,50% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 15% Mourvèdre, vines 50 year old on average, beautiful color, with molten but dense tannins, with aromas of raspberry and blackberry, spiced as it should be in mouth, where liquorice and the plum intermingle, all of structure, of guard. Very beautiful 2007, a wine of nature, powerful, a wine of soil, intense with the nose as in mouth, coated tannins, of beautiful steady robe, the ideal companion of roasted small games and savors of autumn. Remarkable Rasteau Domaine de Pisan 2009 (vineyard of 20 ha in organic conversion, magnificiently located at 310 m of altitude on a soil with strong personality, the Middle Age of the vines is 35 years, 70% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre and 5% Syrah, grape harvest manual with sorting, small yields), marked by its soil, a fleshy and scented wine, of very good mouth, with the pepper and blackcurrant connotations, combining color and matter, of a nice spiced final, excellent evolution. In Vins Doux Naturels, rare and succulent wines, resulting from a regional tradition at the origin of the fame of the vineyard. 100% Grenache black, vinified two colors, Rouge and Rosé (or Golden), Vin Doux is resulting from old 90 year old vines to the very limited yields (30 hl/ha maximum), a stock producing only one bottle! There is Rasteau Signature rouge 2007, pure Grenache, vines from 50 to 80 years, an exceptional wine, only vinified in the best vintages, with the rich aromatic pallet, a wine which points out the chocolate, game or the cigar, with crystallized cherry notes, spices, very appreciable on desserts with the chocolate.
