DOMAINE GUIZARD

DOMAINE GUIZARD A vineyard in the same family without interruption since 1580. The cellar is set up in the center of the old village, inside the former outbuildings of the Château de Lavérune. The 40 ha vineyard is run under "integrated farming" standards, the white grape vines being run under "organic farming".
Domaine Guizard invites you to discover the Cuvée 400 of 2012, raised for 2 years in new barrels of French oak, made from Syrah and Mourvèdre, with its dark color and garnet reflections, its intense spice and caramel nose evolving into a mouth of great tannic power.

Cuvée Prestige 2011, raised for 12 months in French oak barrels, made from Syrah and Mourvèdre, with garnet nuances and deep dark reflections, a very expressive nose mixing chocolate and cherry, is a structured wine with melted tannins.

Grés de Montpellier 2012, matured in vats for 2 years, develops flavors of blackcurrent and pepper which are typical of the Syrah produced on our soil of rolled pebbles.

Gravelly terrace of quaternary, with an argillaceous basement allowing the vine a regular water supply, thus avoiding the hydrous stress and giving wines with acidity and a matured alcohol level. Southern/south-western directed slopes
Grape Variety
Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Vieux Carignan and Cinsault
Winemaking
Red : wine making by parcel and variety of vine, maceration before fermentation at cold temperature, alcoholic fermentation between 24° and 26° C, maceration after fermentation during 2 to 3 weeks depending on ripeness of each variety, then ageing in barrels during 12 to 24 months for the wines with Saint-Georges-d’Orques appellation. Rosé: wine making by parcel and variety of vine, direct pressing, fermentation between 16° and 18° C. Red and Rosé wines: blending of at least two different vine varieties in order to develop the complexity of aromas in appellation wines. Chardonnay (organic wine): harvest at night, yield voluntarily lower then 50hl/ha, skin maceration in the press during 4 hours, fermentation between 16° and 18° C followed by a 6 months long ageing on fine lees.
