Le Tuquet and its vines are to be seen on royal maps of Belleyme dating back to the beginning of the 18th century. The charterhouse was built in around 1730 (the south façade is by Victor Louis). In the first edition of the Féret Guide (Ch. Cocks 1868) Le Tuquet was classified as the leading wine in Beautiran, a status which has continued to be confirmed in the successive editions of the guide published to this day. At the end of the 19th century, the estate belonged to the family of Père de Foucauld who stayed there several times before leaving for Morocco. It then belonged to a leading Bordeaux trading house, before being bought in 1963 by the Ragon family which still owns the estate today. Large-scale work was carried out in the winery in 1991: 3,200 hectolitres of additional stainless-steel vats, the construction of a new barrel cellar, a temperature-control system for all the vats and air conditioning for the storage area.
Enjoy this superb Graves Red with its subtle, yet intense bouquet of underwood and ripe red fruit, full-bodied and mellow in the mouth, most
charming and excellent for laying down. Very nice Graves White with strong Semillon character - lots of fruit, a fresh, fruity nose and always charming.
