Robert MUHLBERGER - Vine grower and oenologist, present the Muhlberger Vineyards.
Family winegrowing since four generations, led by Robert & Astrid Muhlberger, Philippe Muhlberger their son. Their philosophy vigneronne is summarized in these words: “To live with the Vine! To live with the Wine!”. According to rules and convictions definite and tested by generations of vine growers, so that is written: “Vineyard, Vine, Wine of Vine grower, with V of Truth!”. To mature with wisdom and passion, in the compliance with traditional rules, are the means implemented with an aim of producing authentic wines and of rare elegance.
A mode of respectful control of the environment: permanent putting under grass of the vines, not of chemical amendments nor of remanent weedkillers, fights biological against the ravageurs, interventions reasoned against the diseases containing copper and sulfur, observation and respect of the natural cycle of the vine and the plants on the ground, reinforcement of the proper capacities of defense of the vine, contributions of natural trace elements on foliage…
Harvest: manual grape harvest to return a selected harvest, whole, not triturated and properly sorted grapes.
Wine making: to work out the wines by respecting their own rate/rhythm of evolution, with wisdom and patience, starting from spontaneous fermentations without yeast contributions commercial.
Wines: one thus understands their superb Gewurztraminer Gewurztraminer Domaine du Pas des Loups 2009, of a great aromatic expression marked by peach and fruit scents, then mineral notes, very scented. Riesling Clos Philippe Grass 2009, is also typified, of attractive mouth, very accessible like this other Riesling Wolxheim Domaine du Pas des Loups 2010, of a nervousness in quite characteristic mouth, mixing structure and smoothness, of a beautiful final, to open on a pike perch. Superb Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives 2008, a velvety great wine, of beautiful golden color, with the rich nose prevailed by notes of toast and overripe fruits, all in mouth, of guard. Excellent Pinot noir cuvée des Jeunes Loups 2007, of which the maturing is done out of barrels of oak, which smells of the fresh fruits good (blackcurrant, morello cherry…), at the same time rich and tasty, of a nice final in mouth, very scented, with round tannins. Brut Crémant d’Alsace brut Blanc de blancs traditional method is of foam elegant and light, of a beautiful harmony, very out of fruit and smoothness, full, with the subtle nuances of apple and dried fruits, suave, rich in mouth.
