Founded about 1870 in Banyuls-sur-Mer, the winegrowing of Casa Blanca is one of oldest vintages Banyuls and Collioure, located on the Vermilion Coast, in the Eastern Pyrenees (Roussillon). On 8 hectares of plantations and old vines in terraces, Laurent Escapa and Herve Levano give rise to generous wines, expressing these schist soils fully: Collioure (still wine) and Banyuls (sweet aperitif wine). Since 2001, abandonment of the plant health products of synthesis for the treatments of the vine. The artificial fertilizers were replaced by composts since 1989. The ground is worked by animal haulage (ploughing with the mule) on one the third of the estate. The remainder is weeded chemically. Tests of putting under grass are in hand to be freed completely from weeding. Superb Collioure rouge Lluminari 2016, of a beautiful sustained color, with nose dominated by small red fruits with stone and notes of smoke, a powerful wine and very good evolution, like the Collioure rouge 2016, 80% Black Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, aged for 12 months is powerful on the nose as in mouth, very typical, of a dense persistence on the palate, tasty on, notably, a steak tartare with anchovies or a roast beef with spicy fruits. Beautiful red Banyuls Roudoulère 2016, 90% Black Grenache and 10% Grey Grenache, aged for 12 months in barrels, is the reference of the appellation, of a beautiful complexity of aromas, with complex nose dominated by blackcurrant, with mature and intense tannins that fill the mouth well. As for the Pineil Red Banyuls 2016, it gives off the aromas of spices and cooked fruits, a persistent wine, on the nose as in the mouth, with a fig finish. Beau Banyuls blanc Vin doux Naturel 2016, au nez fleuri, complexe avec ces notes de petits fruits et de narcisse, de bouche ronde et persistante, un vin à la fois suave et frais, de bouche séduisante, perfect with chocolate fruit skewers and vanilla ice cream as well as on a foie gras with figs in brick leaf, for example.
