DOMAINE L'ENTRE DEUX MONDESThe choice of the biological culture was obvious for this veterinary artisanal osteopath, creator and organizer of Foire Biologique and of Libourne since 1999. It launched out in the wine adventure in 2004 with 2.53 ha of vines, installed on two North-South slopes directed for the Merlots (70%) and East-West for the Cabernet-Sauvignons (30%). The pieces are different ages: 15.30 and 50 years. Manual and convivial grape harvest, sorting on feet and table at the entrance of wine storehouse, wine making without yeast contribution, maturing out of tanks and barrels… Biodynamic Demeter certification since 2016.
“My primary goal,” says Jean-François Moniot, “is to produce a wine that I love and can enjoy sharing with friends. My approach is to learn and respect a terroir and a place, to develop a sincere and authentic wine.”
A real favorite for this bordeaux supérieur red 2017, subtle and supple, persistent mouth with characteristic nuances of smoke, all in mouth, balanced tannins, still a little young but very promising. The 2016 is well fleshy as it should be, with a rich nose dominated by small ripe black fruits, all in harmony, a wine with silky and tasty tannins, of excellent evolution.
The 2015, which continues its evolution, is a colorful wine, with persistent aromas of ripe red berries and a touch of cinnamon, with soft and very balanced tannins. The 2014 is rich in colour as well as aromas, with hints of red fruits with stone, intense on the nose as in the mouth, a robust and tasty wine, with harmonious woodiness. The 2012 is tasty, very good tannic base, fat, very balanced, rich and fleshy, with the nose dominated by the ripe blackcurrant and the smoky, a wine ample to lead currently to a cabbage stuffed or turkey fillets hot sauce.
The 2011 is robust but very elegant, of intense colour, with nuances of vanilla and blackcurrant, it is well full-bodied, concentrated on the nose as in the mouth, very balanced. And finally the 2010, fleshy, spicy, with concentrated tannins, all in mouth, with nuances of blackberry and smoke, which is very good evolution.
There is also this red bordeaux supérieur Lise 2012, aged in barrels, which mixes aromatic concentration and delicacy in the mouth, with these aromas of spices (cinnamon) and griotte, balanced tannins, and this bordeaux supérieur Adélaïde 2011, rich but fine, very fragrant, with a nose dominated by plum and musk, harmonious, ideal with barbecue grills.
