SAVENNIERES

DOMAINE AUX MOINES

DOMAINE AUX MOINESThe domaine Aux Moines is located with La Roche aux Moines, surface of 8 ha in Chenin and 0.80 ha in Cabernet for our Anjou village. The Middle Ages with the revolution this winegrowing wine belonged to the monks of de Saint-Nicolas d’Angers, then resold like national good. He knew various owners of which Mr. Benz of the cars in 1926. We are not owners since 1981, it then did not count any more but 4 ha of vines. We brought the piece which we had on La Roche aux Moines and we acquired gradually other pieces always located with the La Roche aux Moines. Dice 1982 we planted certain pieces, by keeping the old vines, and we always practiced a culture reasoned by enherbant all the rows of vine. We renovated the wine storehouse by equipping it with thermobabbited tanks stainless. The park with barrels of 400 liters is renewed every year, but our objective is more to emphasize the schistous soil and the fruit of Chenin that wood. It is Tessa, my daughter, oenologist, who only vinifies at the cellar in the continuity of the house spirit: a true wine with the female one. Savennières 2006, with the subtle nose, of a beautiful aromatic persistence, with prevailing of fresh fruits (apricot) and almond, is a wine of a beautiful persistence finally.
