Jean-Louis Charmolüe and his wife, Anne-Marie, left their stronghold of Saint-Estèphe (Montrose) and acquired this splendid property. ? The winegrowing is very large (230 ha), the surface of the estate is of 58 ha vines, with 1,5 ha of olive-trees and also 1,5 ha of almond trees, the place are magic, the installations modern and superb, are dug in the rock… “To work a vineyard of 58 ha in biodynamy is not easy matter to achieve, but I like to take up the challenges, precise by smiling Jean-Louis Charmolüe. Convinced that all the great wines begin their life in the vine, we concern a very particular effort the work of the plant. Pierre Masson specialist on the matter observed that the composts were looked after, and precise work as for the modes of dynamization and pulverization. The rates/rhythms of nature are respected in Romanin.” We cultivate the vines in biodynamy, have a large respect of nature, the grounds are preserved better, the environment too. Here, compared to Bordeaux, there are much more insects, birds and wild flowers, that proves the absence of insecticide well. The biodynamy employs natural preparations of origin vegetable, mineral or animal, rich in micro-organisms and which take part in the development of the microbial life. The wines profit from the marks Demeter and Biodyvin, organizations accredited bringing the guarantee to the consumer of the respect of the conditions of agriculture in biodynamy. The cellar dug in the rock is designed with the image of a cathedral (columns, capitals, intersecting ribs). The place is amazing of beauty, the ancestral techniques are associated with the technicality of modern materials, the wines find, in this place, the ideal conditions with their maturing and the filled visitor, can appreciate the vintages fully to be tasted. Exceptional Baux-de-Provence Château Romanin 2006 (very small yields, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cabernet-Sauvignon), of robe crimson, with the connotations of morello cherry and undergrowth, of velvety and full mouth, it is a powerful wine, with firm but well coated tannins, the nuances of crystallized red small fruits finally, of guard. ? The 2005, of beautiful garnet-red robe, is intense with beautiful coated tannins, gingerbread notes quite present, crystallized orange, black fruit and of bitter chocolate. A perfectly well-balanced, very tasty wine with the remarkable potential. After, Chapelle de Romanin rouge 2006, resulting from vines a little younger, is a wine with tasty tannins, of deep color, with its notes characteristic of black fruits and liquorice, quite well-balanced. Beautiful Château Romanin blanc 2007, all in savors, all in aromatic freshness, with the subtle nose, of a nice persistence, a wine intense and scented with nuances of honeysuckle and apple finally, suave mouth.
