CHATEAU RASQUE

Gérard and Monique Biancone can be proud of their success in breathing new life into this ancient, beautiful estate with a history that goes all the way back to the Neolithic Era. It is in this beautiful region, so dear to the heart of Giono and swept by the Mistral wind, on very stony, south-facing hillsides, that these 20 hectares of vines flourish. Hand picking guarantees the ripeness and the quality of the grapes which are carried in to the winery. The wine-making process is then handled with the greatest care and much attention is paid to tradition. Here everything is done with taste and authenticity, from the decor to the wines. The atmosphere here is one of friendly professionalism and devotion, qualities which re-emerge in tasting, with wines that are rich, powerful, very well-balanced, with floral and fruity aromas of great elegance. The frosted glass bottles for the Cuvées, bearing a wax seal, provide further refinement. To be tasted: the superb Blanc de Blancs, intense, fruity, marked by its terroir and the Rolle vine-variety (cold racking of the must...), with its aromas, flavours and elegance, and notes of acacia blossom and honey. The Pièce Noble Red is remarkable, powerful and concentrated, with a nose of overripe red fruit and underwood, and with good ageing potential. You should also try the Cuvée Alexandra rosé, made with Cinsault and Grenache, with its fruity, lasting flavours.
