Château Martinens has belonged to the Seynat-Dulos family since 1945. The
vineyard is particularly well located on clay-gravel soils with a
clay-limestone subsoil. The 25 hectares are planted with 64,5% Merlot, 21%
Cabernet-Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and 4,5% Cabernet Franc. The yield is intentionally limited
to 45 hectlolitres per hectare - very low so as to produce wines with very
concentrated aromas.
Madame Dulos and her son Jean-Pierre Seynat-Dulos manage the estate. Château
Martinens is a supple, fruity Margaux which owes a lot to its high
proportion of Merlot The Petit Verdot adds a fleshy roundness, colour and
lots of aromas in the hot years. These wines are delicious served with game,
red meats and cheeses.
Château Martinens has been a member of the "L'Alliance des Cruxs Bourgeois actually.
