This family estate was founded in 1868. In the past, it was somewhat larger
and included land in both Listrac and Arcin. When Brigitte and François
Bernard took it over in 1982, its production was limited to just a few
bottles. Having replanted a large part of the vineyard, they are now turning
all their efforts to the winery, to both the wine-making and maturing
processes. The 8-hectare vineyard lies on a gravelly hilltop to the west of
Grand Poujeau and benefits from soils of the very highest quality. The wine is remarkably full-bodied, rounded
in the mouth with a lot of substance and aromas of over-ripe fruit, spices
and leather. The wine is fleshy and well structured with tannins which are
both rich and flavoursome. It is good for laying down and offers excellent
value for money.
