Lying in the shade of the majestic two-hundred-year-old cedar trees, the
vineyard overlooks the Dordogne river. This estate is one of the most
ancient in the Gironde, and was the property of the Archbishop of Bordeaux
in the 15th century - at the time it was run by a religious brotherhood
which offered board and lodgings to the pilgrims on their way to
Compostella. Here, everything is done to respect the plant and animal life,
the soil is worked and the grapes are picked at perfect ripeness, resulting
in the the best possible wine using the entire harvest. This gives a fine
Côtes-de-Bourg, full-bodied and distinctive, rich in both colour and
substance, with an intense nose of ripe fruit, humus and spices, great
volume in the mouth and excellent ageing potential.
