FRONSAC

CHATEAU DE CARLES

Constance et Stéphane Droulers

CHATEAU DE CARLESOn the side of the mound of Fronsac, above the Isle Valley, this fortified castle at the end of the 14th century takes on its present appearance during the Renaissance. Celebrated by Ronsard, he saw the most brilliant minds: Montaigne, La Boétie, Rousseau, and many others... 120 years ago, Senator Guillaume Chastenet of Castaing entered the scene. He is followed by his son Jacques, illustrious historian of the French Academy, and his grandson Antoine.
Since 1983, the family winery adventure has continued for the fourth generation, that of Constance and her husband Stéphane Droulers. In the same quest of quality without concession, the two spouses produce modern wines, balanced and respectful of the magic of the great historical terroir of Fronsac. The vineyard has been restructured, new plantations realized. A cuvier, built in 2003, allows to implement the concept of total gravity between the sorting table and the bottling.
You can discover this Fronsac 2016, combining aromatic concentration and suppleness, with these notes of sweet spices and plum, a wine very seductive, ample and fragrant on the palate, where we find cooked fruit and pepper, of a guard wine, of course.
