Château Beaulieu was acquired by Pierre and Nicole Guénant in 2002. Since, they very implemented with effectiveness to propel this vineyard and its wines to the more high level. For that, they invested in the cellars and the vine and associated the councils of eminent specialists to draw the best potential from this very particular basaltic soil. In the middle of the immense extinct crater of Trévaresse, with 440 meters of altitude, the vineyard of Château Beaulieu opens out on 200 hectares. Château Beaulieu is thus the most important property classified in AOC Coteaux of Aix in Provence. In permanent search of excellence and authenticity, the oenologist vinificator of the castle proposes the typicity of this singular basaltic soil. The vines of Château Beaulieu are the first to have been the subject of certification “Agriculture Raisonnée” in Bouches of the Rhone, in September 2005.
Château Beaulieu is available in red, rosy and white. The wines proposed combine know-how and character of the basaltic soil. The Coteaux-d’Aix-en-Provence vintage Bérengère 2005 is a powerful wine, with the intense nose (blackcurrant, scrub, morello cherry), complex, of a long final in mouth, tasty, all in harmony, with firm tannins, of very good guard. The Coteaux-d’Aix-en-Provence Bérengère vintage, of delicate robe, a supple wine, is fresh, dense stops some and well marked by the fresh flowers. Château Beaulieu Cuvée Bérengère red and rosy. This vintage, resulting from the best soils, profits in the 2 colors, of a maturing wood 12 month old. Château Beaulieu rosy 2008, of delicate robe, which feels the rose and the strawberry of wood, an attractive wine, mixing nervousness and roundness, of a very nice final in mouth. The white 2008 is charmer, with the peach notes, richly having a nice bouquet, all of structure and perfumes, melted in mouth.
