Since more than one century already, the Plumet family lives in the village of Solutré-Pouilly located in the area of Mâconnais in Burgogne, France. The first vines were planted in 1850 - although it would seem that the origin of the family property goes back to 1774. Since wine knowledge as well as family know-how were transmitted from generation to generation.
The Domaine du Chalet Pouilly is located at hillside and prevails the small hamlet of Pouilly in the middle of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. The 8.5 hectares are divided between 5 ha of “Pouilly-Fuisse”, 3 ha of “Saint-Véran” and 0.5 ha of “Mâcon-Solutré”. The average age of vines is of about forty years for Pouilly-Fuissé and about fifty years for Saint-Véran. Some are centenaries. Mâcon-Solutré was planted in 2010. The grounds are with prevalent argilo-limestone for Pouilly-Fuissé and limestone for Saint-Véran. In 1983, Henri Plumet transmitted his property to his daughter Marie-Agnès Plumet and her husband Bernard Leger.
The Winegrowing proposes this Pouilly-Fuissé 2009, maturing in oak barrel for 18 months in the Bourguignonne tradition, presents a robe clear gold, with the nose delicate, heady, wooded, delicate, with the almond perfumes, white fruits, of lime, of mouth dense, full, which allures by its balance and its aromatic richness (wood, fruits, flowers) the whole carried by a generous matter. A success. It is necessary to know to be patient in order to benefit fully from the beneficial evolution of time. Pouilly-Fuissé 2005, maturing 18 months out of traditional barrels, is a wine with the complex nuances where the flowers prevail and smoked, harmonious, a full and fleshy wine in mouth. Pouilly-Fuissé, with the flowered bouquet, with notes of hazelnut and white peach, all in smoothness, regularly is successful.
